RETREAT CENTER (KPGL)

In 2000 Lama Sangye and Lama Rinchen bougth and offer to H. H. Karmapa, Dorje Chang Bokar Rinpoche and Kyabdje Kalu Rinpoche, and inaugurated the 3 Years Retreat Center, Kagyu Pende Gyamtso Ling, Island of Oral Teachings, Ocean of Benefit and Bliss, at the countryside, 100 km from Buenos Aires city.

Bokar Rinpoche deeply encouraged this undertaking, and H.H. the XVII Gyalwang Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje, personally gave us his blessing and support. Most important that all in 2001 they started and lid the 1th Traditional Three years Retreat of the tradition of de grate Jamgon Kongtrul, for that Dorje Chang Bokar Rinpoche, authorized to booth Lamas to translate all the commentaries and sadanas for the retreat in Spanish.

In 2006, a group of practitioners accomplished the first traditional three years retreat of the Dagshan Kagyu Lineage, the first one in Latin America. Since then some close students continue to doing short retreats. This became the first Retreat of Iberoamerica. These translations are use now in the first retreat of Dagshankagyu in Spain. Since then, the resident Lamas and members are realizing retreats and celebrations, as well as special events with renowned Lamas that visit us.

In 2003, for the 20th anniversary of the Kagyu Tekchen Choling, we built the Changchub Chorten, the Stupa of Enlightenment. In 2007, the Yendum Chorten, the Stupa of Harmony, and in 2010 the Stupa for the swift retorn of Dorje Chang Bokar Rinpoche. We hope to build the eight kinds of stupas that commemorate the special events of Buddha Sakyamuni’s life. The main goal is to establish an indestructible connection with the wisdom and compassion of Buddha’s Mind, and to generate a spot of peace, happiness, spiritual and temporal development for the people of our country and the entire world.

We hope that this Retreat Center will be of great benefit for the practitioners of our country and the Americas.
